Following my last post "love from the other side" (if you haven't read it, I highly recommend that you do), a reader responded, telling that she would put the three steps I offered into practice, and hope that her daughter who’s on the other side would connect with her.
A few days later I received another email sharing with me that her daughter came to her in a dream to let her know that she was ok. The mother now feels much more at peace, saying that the sadness that had been with her daily is gone.
This is the power of focus! Prior to this experience there was more focus on why her daughter hadn’t come to visit yet, and would she ever do so.
By simply putting the attention on “I’ll put these steps into practice,” she shifted her energy and placed the focus on what she wanted while opening the space for infinite possibilities!
A great way to tell if you’re moving in the direction of your desire is to notice what you are focused on. Are you focused on how bad things are? Why your desire hasn’t manifested yet? “Why don’t I have what I want? What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with him/her/they? Why are other people’s lives so much better?” You get the point…
If you’re asking yourself any of these unsupportive questions, take a moment to examine the feeling that arises and make note of how it directly matches what’s showing up in your life experience.
Being a powerful manifestor and creator is about learning how to focus our attention on what we do want, rather than what we don’t. While challenges are certainly going to show up to help us to grow, wouldn’t it be nice to know how to be in the flow of life rather than against it? This isn’t about positive thinking, but rather deliberating choosing to be in the drivers seat of our intentions and desires.
My highest coaching play-work for you this week is: whenever you catch yourself focusing on what you don’t want, replace the thoughts with what you do want by asking supporting questions like “Wouldn’t it be nice if this happened?” “How can today be the best day ever?” “How can I stay inflow today?” “Who can assist me with my intention/goal/desire?”
